Anton Spires wrapped up the Michelin Clio Cup Race Series with another two victories at Snetterton Race Circuit.
Anton, was looking to secure his first ever championship last after another good set of results at Brands Hatch.
Qualifying: Anton was looking strong as he secured another two pole positions comfortably adding to the many poles he has had this season.
Race 1: Anton got off well at the start but fell back to 3rd by the first corner after he avoided looking to be taken off and maybe damaging his title hopes. It was a very comfortable race for Anton he had a two minute gap back to second place and he brought the car home with no damage, a perfect race for Spires. After the race it came to light that mathematically Anton had won the championship and that had rounded the day off for Spires very nicely.
Race 2: on this day it was Anton’s birthday and he looked to grasp onto a great birthday present another win for the already championship and that’s exactly what he got. Spires got off to a great start, the best he has had all season and from then on it was Anton with the lead and he just pulled away from the chasing pack. Spires won the race adding to his tally for the season and making this one of his best birthdays yet.
Question marks have been pointed out to whether Anton will be racing at Croft in the Michelin Race series but if not he ill be looking to move up into the Race series for next season.
