Luke Herbert kept his title challenge alive with a strong 2nd in race 1 and an unfortunate 5th in race 2.
Qualifying: Luke had one of his best qualifying sessions this season so far as he grabbed a 3rdand 4th for both races and was looking to fight for the win in both races.
Race 1: Luke got off to a strong start and held his positioning in 3rd. the race was very close the top 5 bunched together and the spectators waiting for the first move during the race there were manoeuvres that were being attempted but the order stayed the same. In the last few laps however the second place driver made a mistake and locked up into Montreal and Herbert capitalised by taking the place and he was able to defined off the attacks made on him and stayed in 2nd place a great result for him and the team.
Race 2: all the front runners got off to an even start and the drivers were all bunched up at the start and the order didn’t change until the remaining few laps when Luke and two other drivers fell away from the two leaders and the three behind, one of them including Luke. On the penultimate lap Herbert was challenged for 3rd place and he unfortunately lost the place and on the exit of the corner he was squeezed out onto the grass and was passed to lose 4th place. Luke couldn’t mount another challenge after that and finished in 5th place. Overall a good weekend for Herbert and he still sits 3rd in the championship and will look to win it in the climax weekend at Croft.
